Yes it is a dauntless oddfire 225. I verified the engine block numbers and firing order and distribuitor placement tell the whole story. Doesnt matter now, it is coming out this week.

I have a 66 with a dauntless. Is it faster than the 67 camaro with a bored out 350 sbc and a M22, and the 12 bolt posi? uh...no. If I were a skilled and trained mechanic, perhaps the last thing I would chose would be an old Jeep, to rip thru sand dunes. I would chose something light like a dirt bike, or perhaps a light framed vehicle with lots of horsepower. Like a VW sand buggy.
There is no 4wd vehicle that can outclimb on sand, or anything else, an off road motorcycle. Its a simple matter of form, function and mechanics.
I took my Jeep for a drive today. It was like driving a tractor. It brought to mind how old Jeeps were made and designed to do very simple chores. Sure we can modify them but the platform is very simple and basic.
If you understand that, a Jeep is very satisfying. If you want something more, perhaps you might consider something more suitable to your wishes.

I had thought about getting a 4 wheeler before I bought this, but I have 2 little girls who love to go places with daddy, I wont go jumping hills, or ripping it up with them in the jeep, but is a compromise I made to spend more time with my two little knuckleheads. I rode in my buddies old 46 flat fender willys before I purchased this, and it has alot of power and is alot of fun with a mild 304 in it. It is a good vehicle for goofing around with the family, adn riding the beaches, but when it is solo time, it is alot of fun and plenty of power. I am looking for the same realistic results from mine. Thanks for you thoughts.

I can't believe my ears! I have a 225 in my '67 and it RIPS!! it is stock as far as I can see with the exception of headers. Running the Rochester 2Jet and even with a sticky lifter (i hope) clicking away , oil leaking hear and there, and the need for better timing it drives like a sports car.

If you are yanking your 225 let me know. I am in Oregon all the time and would love a spare to rebuild.
