I'll suggest that Jeep is not domestic production, but produced on non-U.S. soil under license to Jeep. The steps are unusual, as is the tub length. Seems to me Brazil, Argentina, somewhere like that made some odd variants of the CJ.

Not Brazil, likely Argentina. I recall there was Mexican production too, but I think the Mexican Jeeps are basically the North American body type.

Brazil build a variant on the 5. Someone who knows them better will be able to verify.

But a Brazilian ad would be in Portugese. This is Spanish.

IIRC the Brazilian CJ had that flattened out area in the rear wheel well. Did the Brazilians sell their Jeeps outside of Brazil?

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Mexico made several variations of the cj5. They look like a half tub (front half) w/ different truck type rears. Stake beds, troop transports, bobtails, all kinds of wierd things. Mostly military though they could be had for farms and such too.
