'nuther soft top question...

Dondo These are my good pants..

Just read a couple of threads about soft tops. I'm needing to get one. It looks like everyone kinda likes the Supertop with rails -vs- the Besttop with snaps. I'm wanting a tan/spice color top to fit on a '53 round fender M38-A1. I'm guessing that just about any early CJ-5 top will most likely work. Poking around, I see that most places sell tops for '55 CJ-5. I haven't actually found a specific top just for a '53 M38-A1. Are there some things I should measure before I order a top? I do have the channel on the windshield. The PO had a top with snaps on it. I filled in most of the holes when I was doing bodywork, therefore, I'm really leaning towards the extra money for a rail type top.

    What say ye?

    :)

Uh...hold onto your wallet if you call Beachwood. I'd try New Life Resources first: NLRM@together.net.

For comparison, the canvas I paid NLR $175 for Beachwood lists for $800...
