I'm thinking the roll bar on my 68 CJ5 is a hack job several projects. Wondering if somebody has a picture of what the orginal looks like.

*moderator note* Moved as roll bars were not a "stock" item per se. */note*

Sport bars were a dealer optioned item, the only stock early 5s to come with them were the 462 and Renegade I/II Jeeps.

They were available factory installed from '74 on. Before that, no, only dealer or owner installed.

The roll bar in the picture linked by Heffleysmill above was made by Kayline, and was "official." It came in packing with the Jeep corporate logo, and was available through the parts department.

Good to know! I had the same question in my mind about my 66 Tux.

    I hope you meant Whitco
Kayline never made rollbars to my knowledge
could also be a Smittybilt competition bar

Thanks to all. As I thought, mine appears to be po made. Nothing wrong w/that, we've all been there. If were orginal I would offer it to somebody. As it stands, maybe a good starting platform.
