    Yeah I bet. I'm 6'2" and right now I'm squished. Haven't even driven my jeep for more than 20 min and my hips were cramping up lol

    Now's the time to do the notch. It was a lot easier than I expected. I'm thinking about doing the passenger side. My wife's only 5' 1" so it feels pretty roomy to her. By the way, I've been restoring all the photos that were deleted. So far I'm up to page 45.

    I know it has been awhile since you posted here, by I just read through the whole thread. May I say Nice Jeep. Wish all the pics were still there. Could you post a nice side shot or two, please. I have a 79 CJ5 with rust issues in the frame, picked up a set of 84 CJ7 wide track axles that still were hooked to a frame. Was gonna use it for patch pieces but lately was thinking about maybe using it uncut to stretch mine. I personally don't like comp cuts so I was wondering how much a person could stretch rear by just opening the wells up some. Your wheelbase and a 7s are pretty much the same, so I was wondering how much of the stretch is in the front and how much is in the rear. Thanks, Rude.

    Just scored a set (unfortunately only 4) of Ultra beadlock rims. They came off of a mall-crawler and were never off-road. I couldn't pass up the deal. Craig's List strikes again! Also, I'm working on replacing the missing photos from this thread, but don't hold your breath, it will happen though.

    Not a scratch on them . . . . . yet! They are 15" x 10", 5 on 5.5. They were on a 80's CJ5 show Jeep. Whatever that means. The guy I bought them from bought them for the tires that were on them. He has a Toyota so he couldn't use the rims. the tires were 42" Pitbull Rockers. I can hardly imagine 42" tires on a Toyota pickup. I am going to have to modify the outer rings a little though as my deflators won't fit on the valve stems. Not a big deal. Tracking down another rim to match is going to be a challenge. The production date on these is 2007, so these may not be available. I'm going to visit my tire and wheel guy on Monday and see what we can do. I'm going to have him take my tires off of the old rims on Tuesday and I'm hoping to mount the tires to the new rims myself, per the JP article a month or so ago.

    I have watched and read your build from the beginning and have enjoyed it. Great build with a very nice out come! I hope jp magazine holds true to their word and does the article.

    Did a couple of things this Spring/Summer. I added a TeraLow18 t-case with the 3.15 low range. I'm really really liking it on the trail. I left out the Saturn OD for the season to see if I could live without it. I can't. I just got the new bowl gear from Herm so I can put it back in over the winter.

    Early summer I decided to put Add A Leafs in the Wrangler springs. They were sagging pretty good and the rears were starting to get that "S" shape as they are want to do.

    First thing I had to do was take the spring packs apart. They have tabs that were folded over to keep the springs aligned. I pried them up with some difficulty and took the center bolts out with a C clamp holding everything together.

    The Add A Leafs were a little long, don't know why, but I had to trim off about 2" from one end of the spring. I used a 5/16" rod to align the springs and C clamped them back together so I could put the new center bolts in.

    While the springs were apart I annealed the tabs that were bent over the spring packs so they wouldn't break when I bent them back over. The new leafs brought the Jeep back up to where it rode when I first put the Wrangler springs in. It actually rides better now with a little arc in the springs. They were dead flat before.

    I found a set of Ultra beadlocks on Craig's List. They came off a "show Jeep" that never saw dirt. I wasn't really in the market for another set of 10" rims, but I couldn't pass these up and now that they are on I'm liking them. Got to go out on McKinney Rubicon two days ago and ran the tires at 7lbs. Made the trail seem like driving on a mattress. Think I'll try 6 lbs on the next trip. I had the chrome stripped off the outer rings and sprayed them satin black for a little contrast. I figured the chrome wouldn't last long up against the rocks and I can always touch up the black if I want to. Although the rock rash looks good on beadlocks. Haha

    Those wheels look pretty sharp , are they steel that is chromed or Polished Aluminum? And yes 6-8 lbs without the tire coming off the bead equals allot better traction and a much nicer ride.............

    They are chromed steel and each one is about 9 lbs heavier than my old aluminum wheels. I was concerned about adding the un-sprung weight, but I guess it will be an advantage on the off-camber stuff. I know you'll have beadlocks Terry, and they'll be nicer than these ;) .

    I ran our club's Adopt a Trail up to Buck Lake and there are a couple of spots that I'd usually lock the rear axle for that I had no difficulty going up without the locker with the low tire pressure. I guess you could say I'm happy with these.

    Oh, I forgot to mention, I used ceramic beads to internally balance the tires, no wheel weights. I ran into a guy on the trail a month or so ago that was running some 39" Iroks that he balanced using BB's inside the tires. I did a little research online and watched some You Tube videos and decided to give it a try. Been up to 50 mph on the roads up here and it's as smooth as can be.     I installed my tires on the beadlocks myself so I saved a few bucks there, and didn't have to pay for tire balancing, so the $60+ for the ceramic beads was a pretty good deal. I should have taken some pics of the tire installation, but there are tons of videos on You Tube showing how it's done. The time consuming part is torquing all the bolts on the outer rings. I spent about an hour per tire mounting them.

    I need to buy some too. Been running my 36 tsl on custom bedlock with no balance at all. I run 60 mph without any vibration for now.
