I think he's referring to the steering box bracket. Junk yard item - there's no aftermarket source for these AFAIK. It's exclusively an intermediate (72-75) part. They are different, but you can use the bracket from either a manual or power steering equipped intermediate CJ.

If you want to fab one, I think you're on your own. I'd use the original bracket as a pattern and design one out of plate steel that replaces it. If you want to take some pictures and make some measurements and post them, I'm sure you'll get some advice about how to design and fab the bracket. My first thought about a design for this would be to build a box that slides into the frame like the original, then weld a heavy plate to the box in the original position of the gear mounting.

  4. I did this after breaking the stock unit. It's 3/16 plate not pretty but works well so far. My frames ben modified but the same basic design will work fine on the stock frame.

I've had quite a few requests for my version of a "steering box brace". I am the original inventor off the DSS, which adds a crossmember and a sectorshaft support bearing on Dodge pickups.
I am currently prototyping a similar product that ties that in along with a clamp on the steering box itself also. The original can be seen at http://www.solidsteel.biz/
Right now I'm working on one for a CJ5 and have one being tested on a XJ.
