Source for Replacement Springs?

    Hi

    I can't stand my Jeep's lean to the passenger side any longer! Ever since I put the spare on the passenger side mount, the Jeep really leans towards that side!

    I was hoping that the members could tell me what type of replacement springs they're using and where they got em'? (not looking to lift it over stock, maybe an inch) I want to replace all four springs w/ new shackles. Looking for a good price, too.

    I bought stock type replacement springs for the wagon from Walcks' 4WD, I'm happy with them, and have always been satisfied with his prices.

    Skully-
    4 wheel drive hardware www.4wd.com has replacement springs which you can buy each spring individually, or they have a kit from Rancho (with u-bolts), which says it may lift it up to an inch. I don't know the ride each set brings. This is what I just found while browsing the catalog.

    I have a pair of stock rear springs from a '64. PM if you'd be interested.

    I have not read the threads on the "Jeeper's lean" but I assume that new springs would correct this phenomenon. I have the standard lean to the driver's side. I hope this was not a high-jack.... :oops:

    I bought the Rancho 1" kit, mainly because they threw in a set of shocks with the total price being about the same as a set of straight replacement springs.

    Lean is common. Even brand-new Jeeps, still in warranty, would lean. If it were mine and the lean were not excessive, I'd just accept it.

    Jeep had a kit in the '70s to fix lean. Rather than replace the springs, they'd put a block between the spring and axle on the high side. Typical warranty repair at that time.

    So many springs to choose from -- Go with a complete kit. I have Superlift springs which I acquired in a parts Jeep deal. I had planned on going BDS due to their no-fine-print lifetime warranty. They are a little bit more but if you break it or get a sag, they will replace it!!

    I like my Con Ferr shackles which are 1" over stock (1/2" lift). This size has more of a stock height appearance and are rock solid.
    www.central4wd.com had the best price shipped (should run you $90 for all four shipped). You can add greasable bolts if you like. You can choose to go with a slightly taller shackle for the rear to accomodate heavy spares, hard tops etc.
