You're about the fifth person to tell me that! Honestly though, I did steal the idea from someone....Rick Russell (from Sidekick Offroad). Once I saw his '56 CJ-6 I had to have one like it! Plus, my son wanted it yellow (he likes Bumblebee from Transformers, although the yellow they use on that Camaro is a little different).

Yeah, I've seen a pic of that '6.
I like the yellows. You've seen Dad's Jeep....

You could use some aluminum angle and rivet or weld to the inside of the new dash. It is an aluminum dash, right?

Excellent idea! Yes it is aluminum.....

So, pardon my ignorance....Lowe's or Home Depot? Other?

Yessir! In fact, when I first saw it years ago driving on Diamond dr. I thought to myself "I hope he doesn't get made when I end up with one almost the same color!

Probably either. Sometimes a real hardware store like ACE would have some, as well, but you might need a metal supply yard to get the correct thickness or width angle. Probably only need one inch or less and fairly thin, I'd think.

You can also buy aluminum angle at Speedy Metals online: http://www.speedymetals.com/c-8344-6061.aspx

It's light, so shipping will be cheap. It's very cheap by the foot. Welding it to the back of the dash would look the cleanest, no exposed rivet heads. But welding aluminum is a bit of a rare specialty and is best done with a TIG welder.

Alex, I think Metzger's has small aluminum angle.

Did some cleanup on the frame...the lazy way. Tried to mask stuff off, but by the end I was just wanting to get it done. It's not perfect, but short of disassembling the chassis, and with the weather we've had (Windy!!), it's gonna have to do. These photos were taken after a rainstorm after a dust storm, so there's a few water spots...

Bumper arrived on Friday. The bumper came from Ground Pounder Fabrication. I have a non-stock rear cross member, so I just sent him a picture and he nailed it. Should only have to drill a couple of holes per side, plus tie it in to the frame. Still need some final touches on the rattle can paint job, but here she is for now....

With all kinds of summer commitments, progress has been slow, but I did manage to get some goodies for when it gets re-assembled:

    1) New set of M.O.R.E. Bombproof zinc plated motor mounts

    2) Daniel Stern - Full up headlight upgrade. New Cibie lenses, Osram H4 bulbs, and harness
