Are there any threads or instructions available for a complete conversion on a CJ-2A? Specifically, a complete parts list with numbers and instructions?

There is a article in the tech section on the CJ3B page you might want to check out.

From what I remember you'll need new bulbs and a voltage drop for the gauges. I think you'll also need a new 12V regulator and generator or a Delco alternator swap would give you both. IIRC, the starter will work at the higher voltage.

Centech www.centech-wire.com carries the voltage drop or you can replace your gauges with 12V gauges.

    Here's the link Larry mentioned.

The Gauges in a Flatty are all mechanical except for the Ammeter and the Gas gauge. The Ammeter doesn't care about voltage, but you will need the voltage reducer for the fuel gauge. ;)

Going off of this, not to steal a thread, how does one tell his headlights/bulbs are 12v? PO told me he was running a 12v bat.

Most bulbs have the part # printed somewhere on them and that number can tell iv 12 or 6 volt. the CJ3B page, tech section has a comparison of some 6 vs 12 v bulb numbers.

    If I recall from my flaps days a 6012 was a 2 headlamp system 12 v a 6006 was a 2 headlamp
    system 6 v.
