Full width axles......

    OK, here is the deal eventually I will probably have the cj on 40+" tires (yeah I know, don't want to here it), What I have now is a full size blazer so what I am thinking is with the factory high steer **** it shouldn't be hard to install the power steering pump outboard of the frame, use the blazer steering column, and keep the sua setup for right now. Thoughts? Links to anybody that has done this?

    Not sure if there will be enough clearance to run the stock blazer steering. Are you sure you want to use the blazer axles? If it is a 1/2 ton that means a light duty 44/10 bolt in the front and a c-clip 12 bolt rear. Both of which will be troublesome w/ 40's. You will also want to change to high steer crossover steering not the stock front to back on the drivers knuckle. You will also not be able to keep the sua as you would have to do some major modding to make a pass side spring perch and will have to outboard mount the spring either way.

    hmmm..... well ****, don't want to SOA right now, to much lift at this time.... Only reason I was thinking about it I have a blazer I am fixin to scrap and have all the parts I need..... may just say screw it and sell this and buy something bigger, maybe sell this and rebuild the blazer........

    yea, go with 3/4 ton (Suburban or pickup) stuff. I've been looking at this same idea (only keeping my 35's) and the 1/2 ton stuff WILL break with 40's!

    do a search over at www.pirate4x4.com , they have all the answers (if you don't mind the A**holes who frequent over there also)
