I think it would only use the grille and hood. It pretty much would look like a commando.

Interesting combination of body parts. I like it!

I have an early cj6 and have been debating going with the spare hood and grill from a early commando. I like the look.

Go for it. I really like the look. Especially going on a cj6.

I have never seen a cj6 with the combo. I may try it, just to get an idea of what it looks like and if I hate it, I will just unbolt it. The early six can use the hood and grill, as it was the short 6.

Actually, I can't find a reason why the early Jeepster Commando nose could not work on the 74 CJ-6 either. I have a SBC in there and there is room even with an early cj5 nose on it. This is sounding more like a go, than a no go. I might have to bolt it on, when I get some temps above 10 degrees. Its freaking cold right now. 40's next week though.

What will you do with the 5" difference between the early and intermediate clip? The wheelbase of the '74 is 104", and the early clip is meant to work with a 101# wheelbase frame. The engine will fit in there, but I expect the fender edges will be on top of the tires and you'll either need to cut or ... something.

With the 84" and 104" wheelbase and its 5" longer clip, big tires usually catch at the back edge of the fender. The 81" and 101" wheelbase typically catches the front edge of the fender. If you lengthen the wheel base and use the longer wheelbase, that condition will be quite a lot worse.

I am going to dig out the extra Commando nose and bolt it on to see where it all sits. Let you know, when it gets warm enough to do all of that. Hoping for 40's this coming week.
