this is the very begginning of a rebuild on my cj3a, entitled the roach seeing as how it housed a considerable population of the things burrowed into the frame and rotten seats. so here are some of the initial pictures of the thing showing up on my doorstep, from a local field where it has sat for 20 some years.

so just looking at it was a task in itself, and there were parts of the floorpan you could literally stand in and still be touching the ground. as i told my neighbor who threatened to call the police if this "thing" stayed near her house. "i only see potential"

here are some of the parts i could use:

all of which could use a rebuilding. that's my friend evan rebuilding the T90a and getting it cleaned out. the insides were in useable condition.

the frame itself wasn't rust eaten, but it was missing parts...maybe a bumper or two. the front bumper had the middle completely removed in order to obtain whatever was so desirable in the middle. and the shackle hangers were bent and poorly repaired as well. this resulted in me removing the entire front end (bellcrank Xmember foward) with a cutting wheel. and with some new C channel and a trailer hitch it would be rebuilt.

that's it for now. full outers as far as bearing ft & rr are getting ordered. springs next week. full steering is already here, and master cylinder....now all i need is an engine. ANYONE GOT AN L HEAD?

WOW! You're an ambitious feller, I'll give ya that! It looked mighty sad in those first photos. If you keep going the way you are, it's going to look great!
