Not an early, but I'm proud my first jeep is a 6

    • Dana 20
    • 33" Goodyear old school MTRs (500 miles)
    • A little bit of lift
    • Shackle reversal

    Accumulated since September

plenty to do, but i appreciate the great resource here, i have learned a lot since september.

Here is a picture of mine right before I put it in the barn a couple years ago when I started building my Scout. I just drug it out last week and started on it though, goal is to have it done by Memorial weekend.

1956 w/ Koenig half cab. Came out of Worland, Wyoming. Family story says it was a forest service Jeep, but no proof of that at present.

Count me in for a CJ6. Mine is a 58 bought from the origional owner. My dad drove it when it was new and 40 years later we have it. Came from the factory with a captins winch, rear mount pto, willys heater. Spent many years running a water pump to water the cattle.

Add me to the list. I recently acquired another $500 Jeep project in the form of a 72 CJ6 with a hardtop. No engine, trans, seats, wiring, or steering but I already have most of all that. I couldn't pass it up. It's been here in AZ. its whole life and the body is remarkably good. Coupla rust spots at the rear body mount brackets (easy fix) and one spot on the drivers side by the door and thats it. The bottom of the gastank skidplate doesn't have as much as a nick in it anywhere.
Hardtop and glass is nearly perfect.
The day I brought it home...

It had a full size chevy 10 under the front of it (PO was gonna make a rock crawler out of it) but i yanked it and put a D30 from my old 73 CJ5 under it.

Got some old 33 rollers on it and got the top off. Heres how it looks now.

Gonna get my 47 going before this one so this is how it's gonna sit for awhile anyway.
Not sure whether I'm gonna keep it yet, my plan is to get it driveable with parts I have and go from there. It originally came with a 304 according to the VIN and I just happen to have a running one out of my Cj7 project that I just completed so that with a Dana 20 oughta get it back similar to what it had. If I keep it it'll get a NP435 or an auto. If I sell it I have a T150 that'll go in there.
6's seem to have a level of coolness all their own.:)

I may have one coming soon. I traded a rifle for a 75 (complete rust bucket) Cj5 from a guy. All mechanical parts, but not much of a body form the dash back. I then purchased a CJ6 frame online and tought about cutting it. I changed my mind and decided to build a CJ6. May have to buy and aftermarket body, but its only money I don't have. Wish me luck. Hope to start on it in late April. Moving into a new garage.

Well, I don't know if I count. I took a '79 CJ5, lengthened it 20 inches to make a CJ6. After getting two '68 CJ5s, I swapped in an early CJ5 windshield. Looks great and will have all of the modern conveniences of the '79 including a 360 V8 and disc brakes.

...and here it is with a quick rattle can test of the paint colors I plan to use:

I have a Kelly hardtop that I plan to lengthen to fit as well. It will get painted light gray.

I'm toying with purchasing an intermediate CJ windshield for this project and putting the '68 back where it belongs. I have two '68s and hadn't planned to build both, but the more I think about it, the more I desire one resto-mod and one resto-build.

Count me in (at least for a tub). I still need to find a donor vehicle blah blah blah. Even before that I need my new job to start. Here's a couple pics. Not sure on year but was told its an earlier one.

There are four CJ6's in residence here - a 1968 four cyl w/full hardtop, 1966 four cyl, 1956 w/Ramsey PTO winch, early model parts chassis w/ late body & another 1956 in the works. With the exception of the parts chassis all are complete origional non running vehicles.

I don't own one, but there is one in my shop!
I am helping a friend fix up his 67 CJ6a. Missing alot of the Tux accoutrements. But still nice looking.
We are currently dropping a 3.8 from an 85 Cutlass Supreme into it, as well as a TH400/D20 from a Commando.
While were at it, we're adding power steering, a later CJ dash setup, and a rear tank.
I'll try to post up some pics! Just pulled the 225/T14?/D18 out of it today.
