An Aussie locker or lock-rite for the axle, either front or rear. This would help greatly with offroad use. For oall around use the best bang for the buck is gonna be either disk brakes up front or saginaw steering, power or manual. YMMV

I'd agree with the saginaw power steering and disc brakes first if you haven't already done that. These two things make a world of difference in driveability/safety. A locker definitley adds to the off-roadability. Lock-rite's are reasonably priced.

My top 3 are Saginaw Steering, Brakes (11" or Disc), and an OD. Those are the first things I do to all my rigs.

    1) Chevy disc conversion
    2) Vacuum booster conversion
    3) Warn OD
    4) Front LSD

I think the V6 Ross boxes work okay.

Thanks for all the ideas. i have to decide what i am going to do. i am leaning toward the brake upgrader or the steering first. lockers etc. can come later on when i have the $ flow. I want to make it something driver friendly. thanks again for all the ideas.R)

the go for the brakes. I used 1973 bronco front backing plates (spent about a bill for all four). Other than redrilling 2 holes per plate on the back axle (I have a flanged, the tapered one won't need'em), they bolted up. I used 1973 jeep hardware/drums/wheel clyinders. could do one axle at a time (start with the front, might not need the back).

Thanks Karl, did you do disc or drum upgrades? i want discs up front and i cant remember what was on the early broncos? my cousin had some just cant think of what they had. If it was disc then what parts did you use, calipers etc. thanks
