Well, I got tired of worrying if stuff would stay inside the Jeep that I had put on the fenderwells when I went bouncing down the trail. I was never sure if the ol' bungee cords would keep things in. So, I made these side panels to fit inside the rollbar braces. They have a plunger latch at the bottom rail so I can take them out and at some point I'm going to add a small leg so they will fold down flat and make a small shelf to put stuff on (beer?) when I'm camped. The bottom rail is some 1/2" od tubing I had laying around. I used 3/8" solid rod for the plungers, top bar with the bend and the anchor points. They fit into 3/8" holes I drilled into the brace on the rollbar. The first pic shows the jig I made for the curve in the top bar. I stole the idea for that from Orange County Choppers. The whole thing started out life as a cardboard template of the overall shape I wanted. Believe it or not, they don't rattle! Guess I got lucky there.

Interesting idea. At one point I was looking for ways to keep rear-seat hands and arms inside the Jeep in a roll...this is one idea.

GENIUS! Excellent idea! (can I copy??)

Great way to make use of an empty space and provide some versatility/security :)

Thanks guys! I'd make a bunch of them, but I'm so slow I'd have to get about a thousand dollars apiece for 'em to make money.
