The motor is not original. When I bought the 6 it had a 231 Buick V6 in it with the computer control carburator. I took my engine to the machine shop and they said the motor could not be rebuilt. I had to go to a junk yard and buy another for a donor to bebuild. It is also the 231 3.8L Buick V6.

The seats I bought from Coby61. They were that way when I got them. They are in great shape but my wife is fixing to get them recovered for me. The picture does not show the color well. The seats are currently a pinkish-orange color. I think I will go back with black or grey.

    Just an update.

Work on my 6 has come to a snail's pace. I am not griping, but having a new baby takes alot of time. I found an new resource for some help on my body work. He is a retired Firefighter and he and his son own a body shop. Long story short, he told me to bring my jeep to their shop and he would help me.

I almost am ready for paint, you can see from the pictures I have made alot of progress. There is no more rust in my jeep. I hope in a few weeks I will have a painted tub on my running gear. I am getting closer. I will keep you posted.

Looking good, man. You've come a long way. I think this was the most enjoyable phase of my '70 project, when you know that what's underneath, and you can shoot some color on with confidence. Can't wait to see more pics!

Just an update. Body work has been slow but here are some pictures. If you go to my photobucket the first six pictures are where I am to date. I have some work left to do on the inside of the tub. The outside is finished except for paint. I hope within a couple of weeks I will have a final paint job. I will keep you posted. Mike

Yes I am going to paint the inside of my tub. I hope it looks as good as the outside paint. I am going to get a rubber bed mat and cut it to fit the inside of my floor. I thought about a spray in bed liner, but I know how much trouble Boink had removing it. I hope it will look like a brand new CJ6.

Everything is painted, except the tub and that will happen tommorrow. The hood has a little wave in it. I don't think was anything that could be done with that. I hope it won't be very noticeable. In the pictures there is a thin layer of dust on the parts.

I posted the lastest pics to my Photobucket account.

The paint color is Blue Granite Metallic, 07 GM truck color.

Everything is back from the paint shop. I have a few small things to do to the frame, then I will be putting the tub on the frame. Then on to wiring and exhaust. I am pleased with the end result. I found a few things that could have used some more attention prior to paint, but I think it will be fine once the interior is in.

    I know, I know :uwop:

I will take some in the morning and post them. I am at work until 0800 in the AM.
