I am going to make my own fenders

    Steel rod bends too easy and is a bit heavier when you consider the amount of tubing required even for some "simple" fenders.

    I am trying to find tubing or material that is easy to bend because i do nto have a bender. and available at Lowes ro home depot. I have the sheetmetal already just need the tubing or rod that is easy to manipulate. I was going to get the hand conduit bender to bend the tubing for my fenders.

    Nope, got sidetracked with e T18 install, But i have still been thinking bout it, i may have time to whip out a set this summer :)

    I think I am going to give it a try at the same time I do my spring over swap.... I haven't quite decided how to do it yet though....I wish I had a tubing bender!

    I'm going to be building my own fenders too. i'm gonna buy a conduit bender from Home Depot, buy some 1/2" or 3/4" mild steel tubing, some flatbar, sheet metal and start building. I do like the idea of having the inner fender removable though.

    If your going to have to buy a conduit bender get one for ridged conduit, then you can use black pipe for your project and not have to worry about galvanized fumes from welding.

    A conduit bender wont bend tubing without kinking it will it? Different diameters.

    Used to use them running ridgid conduit when did wiring hazzardous areas. You can kink it but if you do it right it will do it. Haven't done it in over 20 years but with a little practice it works. There is a bender for emt (thinwall) and one for ridged conduit have used for bending blackpipe. seems like 1/2 would work well for this. :p
