ez wiring

    I'm going to re-wire my 72 cj5. I'm a decent mech, but when it comes to electrical, I'm lost. But I've heard ez wiring was pretty good....I sure would like some imput to see what I'm in for. If some one has used them before I sure would like to know just how good it is. And does it wire the whole jeep, or do yoy still have to improvise. Thanks for all the help.:)

    Old Bill Aggressively passive....

    Even the small version will cover the entire Jeep unless you have a lot of accessories. The quality is up there with Painless, but the directions are not. You will have to do some thinking to make the EZ work for you. Not terribly bad though as long as you take some time to research before hand. I'd say if you're willing to think through the problems, and want to save some bucks, EZ is a good choice.

    I have one of their harnesses sitting on the shelf, waiting for me to finish stripping and repainting the inside of my tub. The quality looked nice (I dont have a painless to compare it to) - the labeled wires will be a great help.

    I bought the 21 circuit as I have a number of additional lights etc and I'd rather have a few extra circuits than be hacking/sharing ones on a smaller harness.

    Strider380 Can I have a zip tie?

    I used the 12 cir. It worked great and I have three or four extra circuits. The only thing you'll need in addition to the harness is a good pair of crimpers, strippers and the battery cables. It will be very frustrating at times but can be completed in a weekend (two long days). The individually labeled wires make it a piece of cake. Instead of wrapping my harness, I used 4 inch zip ties every 6 inches or so. This makes it very easy to trace lines and add/remove lines.
