Serial Number Or Vin Questions

My VIN 8305017364053. Not sure of the build date, but I know my father purchased it 9/28/1970.

 

Where did you find this information? I have searched and I am coming up empty...

 

Which info are you looking for? CJ5's are in the VIN document (see 1st post in this thead for link), Tux's and others are not in there yet although the model prefixes are shown. The info for the others can be found here: http://www.film.queensu.ca/cj3b/SerialNos/SerialNosSixties.html

 

I wanted to know what the 12763 meant in the VIN number.

This is my friends Jeep and we are trying to figure it out.

He has a title for it saying it is a '64.:?

There is not much info in early Jeep VIN numbers. Prefix tells what model it is. 12763 is just the sequential serial number. Did you look at the VIN document and the other link? 8322 12763 was built October 1964 so would be 1965 model year. Model year production change usually happened in August or September.

If he's got a valid title for it, I wouldn't worry if it said 1964 instead of 1965.

I have a 1971 Jeep CJ-5 with Serial # 8305015 282213. I'm trying to figure out the month of manufacture... Can anyone help me out with this?

 

serial number help

serial number starts with 57548 then 56242 can anyone decode this for me ? I know the first part means universal cj5 but i really am after the year , thanks

 

I'll have to see if I have any other info, but 280142 is June 1971
and that's the closest I can come. Did you go through the thread to see if anyone has posted a serial number close to yours? Sorry I'm not more help, but I'll have to dig to see if I have any later info.

Did you look at the VIN document linked on the first page of this thread? I think 56242 would make it a 1957 model year vehicle.

67 vin info???

Can someone give me some info about my VIN #, I'm not sure when,what or where.
The guy told me it was a 67 V6 CJ5.:?

My CJ5 is registered as a 67, with Ser# ending with 352316, but with these numbers above by Zoomer, looks like I've got a 69. That would clear up a lot of questions about some of the extras I have on mind that weren't on a 67.

Forgot to list this with other info. Still has the dealership sticker on the tailgate; Lebo and Sons Loveland, Colorado. Has Rambler on the tag also.

 

I have a Tux, 832214728. Am i correct in reading this as a Mar/Apr build date? sold as a 66, but made that early in 65?:?

I just got a kaiser jeep which I cannot understand if is either a CJ5 or 6 or even the year that it was made. I wonder if someone can help me finding this. My father bought the jeep in 94 to the portuguese army and got tired of fixing minor problems so he just gave it to me. On the jeep documents it just says : model: jeep and licence plate year is 94... which it isn't definetely. My confusion is the following. According to the serial number : 8305 210070 AA. I can only decipher the prefix 83 which means it should be a cj5. the rest doesnt make much sense following the pdf paper. The other problem is that on the other side of the serial number plate I have a plate saying model CJ6.

I was thinking for sure that it was a cj6 until right now that I am finding in the sites to order parts that 83 prefix is a cj5!I should be making same confusion. If someone can help me identifying the model and the year I would apreciate.I can send pictures if it helps

Here is my vin on my 1971 cj5 Renegade II
