Since I have the CJ up on stands doing the brakes and hubs I'm staring right at the bump stop. With it compressed on the stands there is only 3/4 of an inch to fully compressed. No wonder it beats me to death on bumps. Seems to me even though the Jeep sits plenty high on 31's it may have sacked the springs. Does anyone know what distance there should be?

I had ~4 inches on my '2A with new "stock" springs and shackles. I have a bit more now with a mild shackle lift.

Mebbe one of the ECJ5 guys has fresh stock springs and shackles and can give you a better measurement. off the top of my head though, 3/4" travel is telling me that your springs are toast.

I had the same problem (on speed bumps, etc). About 1" at the most. I put some new STOCK springs and shocks and it's now closer to 3.5-4"

You might try asking for the springs here on the WTB page. A lot of the guys goto lift kits and rancho springs in order to get better offroad clearence to me. Sounds like you need better manhole cover and speed bump clearence to me. R) A set of servicable used springs might be just the ticket.
Anyone out there have a set available??

I have a set that were custom built with about a 3" curve to them. Greg can have them for the cost of shipping or since I'm in Utah and his Jeep is from here, he can come get them. Whatever he wants.
