How many Renegade IIs Survive?

Looking for list of Renegade II owners. I keep hearing only 600 made where are they now?

 

What year are they and how would you tell?

 

I've heard of the 600 number, but I've also heard that they made 150 Ren II's early in the run. The 150 were painted in "Big Bad Orange". Later on with the victories at Baja, Mint, and Riverside (yellow, green, orange, respectively) .. 200 of each color.
My Ren II is Orange and has a build date of November 1970. Does anyone have a green or yellow one and what is the vin or build date?

 

I had a 1971 Big Bad Orange Ren II when I first moved to Denver back in '91. Didn't know what I had at the time. Put a tailgate in it and painted it yellow. Sold it a few years ago. BUMMER!

 

My business partner has a 1970 Renegade II. It appears that the original color was Big Bad Orange.

My Renegade I is Orange and has a build date of Sept 1970 VIN 367612

Maybe his is a Renegade I. You can barely make out the word Renegade on the side of the hood. It's definitely a 1970.

If your's is a Ren l then that must be late in the run. I take it your Jeep is a 1970 model year (the Ren l gave it away). So I guess the 71's probably started building around Oct-Nov. 1970. Thanks, and yea, post some pictures

 

Would love to restore a Renegade II! Alwasy been looking for a nice one for a start to a full restoration, hell even a rough one that is complete would do. The picture with the three Renegade II's, one in each color, always did it for me!! I have come accross a couple on the web... but people decided to cut them up and make trail jeeps out of em... guess that is what they were originally built for.

Anyone have numbers on how many 462's, and Renegade I's were made?

 

Not sure what all I have. Previous Owner told me mine was a Renegade, (I assume a II, being a 1971.) Showed him this forum and he said it looked just like the yellow one on the banners. The hood on mine has been replaced, and he sold the old one for scrap. My serial number is 8305 017 373400. Not sure where this places the mfg. date at.

 

Well, isn't that a find kettle of fish. My 71 is a RenII(yellow/black). Swapped the body for a 65 many years back 'cause I hated not having a tailgate. Guess I shoulda kept the tub.
