I read somewhere that the easiest way to distinguish the T14 from the T15 is to count the number of bolts holding the top cover on. The T14 would have 8 bolts while the T15 would have 10 bolts. I always thought I had a T15 until I came across this information and learned I had a T14.

Can anyone out there verify the 8 bolt vs. 10 bolt analogy?

Regardless, I picked up a T18A (6.32:1 first gear) for a replacement. Just need to get the shorter input shaft and rebuild kit for it since it came from a '77 J10.
