Bout to have to buy a new battery for my old Jeep. Just kinda wondering…i have several hot wires and a couple ground wires going to my battery (headlights, KC lights, air compressor etc.). I hate the mess of ring terminals all stacked up and attached to the battery. Seems like there ought to be a bus bar of positive and negative terminals that could be placed separate of the battery and maybe mounted to the fire wall or something somewhere. Maybe bus bar isn’t the right word…i don’t know. Any of you fellas have something like that you might could share pictures of?

That's the hot ticket....I put one in similar that had hook ups on back side, cut a hole in fire wall ,mounted, fuses in the engine compartment, nice to stand up to check fuses....not a clue the brand name, but if you google it will come up

I used a Bluesea brand fuse panel. They come in all different sizes depending on how many circuits you need.

When I built my 64 Tux I used a 66 V6 donor it had never been molested, all stock everything. the wiring harness was factory, so I just put it in, I wish I had made my own now, because it has inline fusses from the factory, and anything I added I used marine inline fuses. There is no problem except now 15 years older I have to remember what I done 15 years ago, and that is not easy. It would have been better to put a circuit board in and everything in one place. Time goes on.

There are places for both battery terminal buss bars and fused distribution blocks. You obviously do not want high amp loads routed through typical distribution blocks where 30 amp circuits are the usual maximum. Quadrtec has buss bars https://www.quadratec.com/categorie...sories/battery-terminals?ka=battery terminals but you can make your own. On JKs and other canbus systems, you typically can not tap into the regular wire harness so everything ends up on a separate system directly from the battery. I made the buss bar(s) for my 3B out of 1x1/4" copper bar stock. 00 leads from that go directly to the starter, winch, and welder (also the alternator), and a 6 gauge to an accessory distribution block.

For distribution blocks, I've become pretty fond of Bussmann's 15300 series. These are completely waterproof if assembled correctly and have several options for internal bussing or no bussing, and relays/fuses/breakers. They use 280 terminals/boots. Bussman also has a lot of other, similar products. I ended up with 3 of those blocks in my 3B.
