Anyone got a pic of what the nest for the hood prop is supposed to look like? I'll probably just make something but I thought I might save myself the engineering time. Thanks

assuming that you have a 1973 jeep, any older than that the windshield is the hood prop. this should be moved to the intermediate forum section

there we go, all information is good information. I based my assumption off of your screen name. silly me.
looks to be a simple L bracket with a hole in it, the rod stop is the rad/grill support rod.

So it kind of rests on the grill support rod too. Thanks

You could make a work-alike replaement easily. The original bracket is maybe 16 ga and stamped with rolled edges to give it stiffness.

It's a 973857. Parts Dude makes a replacement, but it only resembles the original in shape and function.

So we have been wondering about this as well. For many years. Spent a little time at the work bench and made one. Ayden decided to add the grommet to keep things from scratching. 20220402_150408.jpg
