71 V6 Carburetor Cable Install

Need help with carb cable replacement.
In process of rebuilding 71 v6 and don't remember how cable is routed.
Carb is 9 inches from firewall and new cable is 18 inches. Clevis on one end with ball attachment and threaded adjuster other end.

 

This is a pic of my Rochester 2g carb on my ‘70 V6. Not sure if this is what you’re looking for though.

 

Thanks for pic but looks like yours is linkage same as 69 but not cable like my 71??

 

A '71 should have the same linkage as the '70 shown above.

 

V6 Jeepster used a cable.
This diagram for that application might help.
The parts diagram is not 100% accurate I might add.
If this is what you are doing maybe it will help you.

 

It may be similar to the set up used on my 70 C101 J/C, it uses the cable too.
It appears to be the same as what Jim posted.

That's mine tried looping and will try again. Got get 28 inches cable to just go 9 inches and still move freely.

Grant, you are not necessarily wrong. I believe that he may be talking a CJ as it is posted in the CJ 5 & 6 section.
It just seems his description is similar to the Jeepster set up so we went off in that direction trying to help.

 

It's titled as 71 cj5. Came with old cable and omix had new cable replacement .

 

Got it installed still have raise and move foot pedal get 1 inch slack out.
