    Hi everyone,
As I progress with the engine rebuilding I came across this part listed on my Parts List Manual

    GROUP 15-05 COIL
    631105 Washer, 1/4", special Qtty. 2

I remember this being a special D shape washer on MBs and GPWs, as it is also listed by some vendors (ie. Ignition Coil)

I did some search first but I couldn't find any previous post.
Could you please confirm these washers being factory correct on early CJ5s too?
    Thanks!

Those "washers" are used only in the military waterproof distributors where the coil fits inside the main distributor housing that clamshells together. These washers hold/clamp the coil into the lower part of the military housing.
These washers have nothing to do with the round civilian distributors found on CJ models.

Edit: I am certain these D-washers are used in the waterproof military distributors to hold the coil in the housing. Apparently, they are also used on early civvy CJ's too, from the other comments.
Sorry for the incorrect info above.

Thanks Donny, so it seems the Parts List Manual is wrong in this listing. One less part to look for.

Both of my 3As have these washers.... They hold the coil clamp to the block.

That's also my understanding and my GPW has these washers. CJ5 Parts List Manual calls for them. Any other insight?
    Thanks
