Been working on a shroud for my cj5 V6. The one pictured is my prototype and made from 3/16 paneling glued and screwed. Hopefully I will refine this wood shroud to aluminum. I already see improvements to be made. I'm going to drive this a while and see what happens. Shroud is split vertically so it can be removed easily. HARDEST part of this was to locate the fan hole in the shroud relative to the radiator.

    Nice work.
A shroud made a huge difference in focusing air flow thru the radiator in my Jeepster.

Why can’t you use a stock shroud?

Nice work! Here's one I made out of hardware store sheet metal and pop rivets. It made a huge difference in cooling when stationary.

I used the fan shroud off a 740 Volvo and an aluminum plate to adapt it. Course, I also used the fan clutch and fan for the 740 as well, works really good.

It looks like your shroud doesn’t go all the way around the fan? I’ve been looking to add a shroud, but that’s the dilemma I’ve been facing... There isn’t enough room to make it go all the way around the fan. I didnt want to go through the effort of making a partial shroud if it wasn’t going to be effective.

  8. I found new stock style one for my dauntless. I think it was listed as for a Jeepster.

Good work on fabbing a shroud.

My J20 came to me with a broken shroud. It's normally open at the bottom and closed across the top. The top part was gone, with the two sides still bolted to the radiator. Repair -

It's closed on the radiator side - see the pop rivets for the enclosing panel. Not difficult. Something from the junkyard might fit a CJ with similar mods/additions.

It is open on the bottom but still made a remarkable difference.
