Exactly, that is why I have been thinking about building a rotisserie capable of handling a fully assembled jeep!
On second thought I just bought myself a new welder, maybe my pipe dreams are getting a little out of hand.
On third thought, now if I can only figure out where the center of gravity thru my fully assembled jeep is !

The dash. It started with gray carpet to match the floor. Then the brown doghouse and kick panels looked weird, so I painted them gray. I decided the oak dash panel looked old fashioned against the gray, so I removed that, and there was more brown under that. I was going to just mask everything off and paint it in place, but there was only a “few” screws (that I could see) to remove the dash to paint it properly, so off it came. There’s a 10” section between the dash pad and the windshield that is part of the body. I’m masking the windshield now to paint that.

After this, the door panels are next. :banghead:

I should’ve just bought the tan carpet.

And the Y drive will be easier to install if you build a rotisserie for the RV.

Sounds reasonable to me, If one could figure the center of gravity point thru the RV end to end. I would bet ITLKSEZ could do it if anyone could :schooled:, :D.

Yep, Dana designed, went into alot of early 4x4 Ford Vans. Honestly, super complicated, and almost impossible to find some parts for anymore.

"Alot" being a relative term. I've just seen them mostly in Ford Chassis.

Very interesting concept. However it is a scary looking setup that might be difficult to work on. Looks like lots of potential problems.

Weigh each corner then block up one side or another on top of the scales to get it to a known angle side to side and weigh again. Repeat again front to back.
Then enter some simple math and you have the CG. add enough volvo power and you have a rocket.

I would have a safety switch with cover "drain and flush tanks"

I assume your 460 has a poorly designed oil filter adapter like ours. The adapter goes where a normal screw on filter goes to angle the filter forward some, I think its to clear the engine cross member iirc. It's got a single bolt in the middle with a gasket on the bolt and an o-ring where it meets the block. The weight of the filter wants to turn the housing down, in turn trying to turn the bolt out. I've had 2 occasions now where we lost oil out the adapter sealing points while driving. I suggest you replace the bolt gasket and o-ring as well as checking the bolt tightness whenever you change the oil. It seems like a really poor design to me, someone took a shortcut. I now keep a spare o-ring and gasket in the motorhome. The bolt gasket was NLA and I had to order a few from a dealer that still had some in stock.

Yes it is, and thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely address it when the time comes.
