Timing Tensioner Bolt

    what holds on the left side spring tensioner on?Mine was broken off.Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like?And where can I get one?Thanks

    Below is a photo of the set up from a engine on my parts shelf. The block with the 2 bolts is available on rock auto.....I have never seen the spring side for sale

    1 assumed you were asking about the one on 225

    Yes 225.By you’re picture the spring side looks like a specialty bolt.

    Thanks looked up the part # found one nos $95.00 wow. Any other options? I already have the new timing chain but it’s not the double roller.Thanks

    If you get a good understanding of the dimensions, or borrow one, most any machinist could make that bolt in his sleep.

    I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to update that parts dude 4x4 has these tensioner bolts available for $15. Just is case somebody else is looking. I am re-doing my timing chain and found that the tensioner was missing, so I had to track down another one of these specialty bolts.

    While I am on the subject, something that can drive a person nuts when trying to re-assemble this the right way: The Jeep FSM has the tensioner assembly shown 2 different ways.
    On the the engine crankcase assembly diagram (fig. D1-6, find no.s 7, 8, 9) it is shown correctly with the special bolt:

    On the timing chain assembly diagram (fig D1-38, find no.s 9,10, 25) the tensioner bolt is shown as just a simple shoulder bolt put in last, which is wrong.
