Frame Number Help

    I have found a Jeep frame with the following stamped numbers.

    916-955-7048

    Can anyone help with year/model?

    Apparently the guy doesnt know anything about jeeps. Anyway he did say he was able to sand off some rust to see 36663.

    Where on the frame is he finding the numbers? There are usually the last 5 or 6 digits of the serial on the right top frame rail ahead of the firewall.

    As I recall, the number on the frame rail tells you the sequential serial number of the vehicle, not anything about the type or age of the frame. Better you post pictures of this frame and we can identify it by features perhaps.
