    Back in the mid 50's when mopar (at least) introduced power steering they came up with a combo genny/power steering pump. The rear plate is an aluminum casting that the pump bolts to, it's driven by the end of the armature that's been machined with flat spots to interface with the pump drive.

    Unfortunately unless I can find a starter under 7.5" long this ain't gonna work for me. :(

    Modify the mounting bracket to raise the genny/pump assy.
