Wide Drum Ramsey Winch And Saginaw.

Hello everyone just got another jeep the 65 i had found a new home with a friend who made me a great offer.

i currently have a 59-60 cj5 with a small block but it has the real wide ramsey 6or 8 k pto winch.
I want to get away from the ross box butnot too sure how. My main question is has anyone made a saginaw and a wide drum ramsey play nice together. Will post pics in a bit

One way is to use a steering box from a scout, or from a '78-'79 Ford Bronco or '73(?)-'79 F150.

that may just be the ticket. Will be looking into that. Looks like it might even play nice with the v8

How did it endup working. Grand cherokee box huh? What years. I have seen jk boxes mount in a simaler way.

Scout boxes are getting tough to find and expensive when you find them. I searched for months to find the one I'm using.

I have about 1" of body lift which allows me to just sneak under the grille with the shaft. Otherwise you'll have to tunnel through. The ratio is fairly fast. Great off-road at slow speed. Could make for white knuckle freeway driving, I used a fairly small steering wheel.
