First Try At Restoring A Steering Wheel

    Came out OK for a first try at it. Off my 1974 CJ6 (but I’m finding that most of the parts are ‘72 or earlier. I guess AMC was just throwing together parts in the stock room).

    Restored mine a few years ago with JB Weld and still looks great.

    Looking good. I did something similar (build thread link below). I considered a reproduction wheel, but worried about fitment issues and the likelyhood it too would shrink/crack over time as well. A 50 yr old wheel has done all the settling is is going to do. The shaping was a bit fiddly, but good results can be had without too much effort.
