When I took out my points arrangement to go with the Pertronix setup, one of the things I found was the insulator for where the contact goes thru the distributor body was cracked, which most likely contributed to my spuratic firing issues. I want to keep the points parts with the jeep just in case I have a Pertronix failure while on a trail. Any suggestion on where to get one of these insulators?

Without going out to look at mine right now, I think what you should look for is a grommet of the right shape. Hardware stores often have a variety.

It was actually an inner and outer piece with a tube I between as I recall. The screw actually goes all the way from inside to outside. Wire attaches inside to the screw/bolt and then the outside wire to the the outside of the same screw. So the screw is conducting the juice and has to be insulated from grounding out. I'm sure I could Jerry rig something but would prefer to find the correct part.

Might be easier to buy a distributor.

Instead of the setup like you have just going with the grommet and extended wire that goes all the way is the simpler setup.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Especially as the just in case the electronics fails.
