    Fellas,
I have combed the interweb and can't even find a picture of what's on my 71, V6, 1 piece bell.
It has a 7/16-14 course thread.

I found mine bent, and badly pitted with 2, 7/16 lock washers under it. That can't be factory, right?

    Replacement source?
    Custom Machine shop item?

I know I can't be the first to run into this.

    Thanks,
    JT

I think I have one you can have. Mine is on my 70 with V6. Was there more than one size?

I believe the 1 piece bellhousing has a unique pivot stud from these used on the 2 piece bellhousing (the one with the cast iron spacer between the bellhousing and transmission case).

If your not in a hurry, I have one of those BH's out in the shop. I can see if it still has the stud as I was going to scrap the bell. Not much call for them and they cost too much to ship.

I'm gonna tinker with it some more, it already had two lock washers under it when I took it apart, so PO or shop did that I guess.
I'm thinking I could space it out a little more if need be, or take it to machine shop and have a longer on made.
I holler at you if all else fails.
    Thanks!

I recently did a clutch job on my '71 and had to adjust the pivot ball stud to get a better angle for throw out arm. As you said the '71 setup is all by it's self and I have not seen a adjustable alternative.
What I did was machine a 1/4" steel spacer and with 1 lock washer that helped a lot. There is plenty of threads on that stud so no worry there. I could probably gone a little more but why temped fate.
Kind of surprised only a few members know about that one off AMC brain storm.. mike
