My tie rods ends are shot so I'm replacing them. I would just replace the ends but the PO tie rod seems short at about 35 inches and to compensate he used tie rods that are longer than stock and I don't know what to order.

I ended up ordering the whole assembly. The jeep has 33s and I'm hoping this is heavy duty enough. The new tie rod measures 40.5 in length so now I can go back to using the stock tie rod ends. Do you think this will hold up with 33s?

    Thanks.

Nearly anything will hold up until it's compromised with a bend. The heavier versions are designed to handle more abuse from outside objects to resist bending. As long as you keep it straight, it will be fine.

Thanks for the reassurance. They didn't state the dia just the length. The existing one looks the same but hard to tell for sure. Seems like a good deal for the whole assembly.

I recieved it and totally dissapointed. It's a pile or crap. Very thin tubing, small cheap tie rods. I can support the center and flex the ends without much trouble. It's looks like it would be used on a go cart. I'm actually scared to use it.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

The stock D30 tube length for your application would be 40.5 inches long, without the ends.
Aftermarket support still good for the whole assembly.
I think I'd ditch the shorter tube you have and go with what's correct.
    Or install HD aftermarket.

J5350586 is part number for the stock assembly if you want to google it.

Thanks for the feedback. I may have to go with a heavy duty but didn't want to spend if I could find some tie rods.

The original on my d30 seems reasonably sturdy. Maybe search for a used one? eBay?
I always figured if I ruined the original one I would build or buy a custom heavy duty one.
    Good luck

I'm running the stock unit with 33s and power steering.
    I've had no issues.

Speedway Motors is another source. Measure length needed per their instructions, new tie rod ends if needed and be done with it.
