I talked to a tire shop today. They are suggesting a P225/75R16 tire would work with the stock rim. Has anyone run this size tire on a CJ5? It's certainly much more affordable than some other options.

Great looking starter! I have 15x8" rock crawler type rims on mine with 3.5" backspace and 3" Black Diamond lift. 33 10.5" BFG KM2's. The thing that kills your steering is the closed knuckle front end. Mine steers no worse than my MB that's all stock. A little harder to steer mind you....

I swapped in an 11" drum brake Dana 30 with a Detroit TruTrac and that is a sweet setup IME.

I have stock tires for tjs on mine right now. Think they are a 30". They do pretty good.
I think the 225 or 235/65 r16 are stock jk tires. I know thats what my liberty has

Whereabouts are you at in detroit? I grew up in walled lake and my parents are in milford now
