Stripe/decor Option

On a '68 CJ5 was there an option package that included stripes along the sides of the hood, just above the fenders? The stripes are three separate stripes, something like a 1 in stripe with a 1/4 inch above and below the 1 inch stripe. thanks.

 

Sounds like a Renegade but 1968 is too early. I think the Renegade model with the hood stripes debuted in 1970.

I have no pics yet. The stripes on mine are not as wide as the ones in the pic above and are lower on the hood, just on the edge.

 

Dealerships often add stuff like this to make the new Jeeps on the lot stand out. There were no factory stripes before 1970, to the best of my knowledge.
