Is the gas tank for a v6 the same as for a 4 cyl regarding the fiting size

This sits on top of the transmission tunnel, is there something missing or does just a rubber grommet go on it like the pass side ?

I can't remember if my Jeep came with lap belts but I would like to put them on. Can anyone show me how they were mounted on a 67 and of any sources for the original belts ?

Heres a pic of the drivers seat bracket from my 66. I think you are missing a mount. The seat belts just mount to existing holes I will look for a picture.[IMG]

The seat leg should have a horizontal flat tab on the end which bolts to the floor, if it's like my '57.

Not the best picture but they mount to the center of the floor, there is a piece of blue felt around on mount in the picture and the other end mounts to the rear wheel well.[IMG]

I am not aware of anyone making the actual reproduction seat belts with embossed "jeep" logo. Being a safety item, I went with new seat belts. These are pretty close in style to the originals...

I used this firm for my 3 point belts. Been in use now for 3 years or so. I am very happy with them.

The CJ5 didn't have the "Jeep" embossed on the buckle up through at least the 1965 model year. Up to this point, they just had a plain chrome buckle, when they even had seatbelts. Seatbelts were an option that was usually installed by the dealer on new vehicles. I'm not sure when the embossed buckle was adopted, though they were commonly used on the wagons and pickups through the 1960's.

These look exactly like the ones currently in my '57, which were retrofitted by the PO about 1970. Possibly by a Jeep dealer?

My gas tank looks a lot like your pic. I believe the drain is 3/8 NPT and the fuel line is 1/4" flare fitting.

Seat support has a flat bracket as others have posted.

There is a heavy threaded "plate" reinforcement backing up the seatbelt mount locations.

The middle mounts are not centered. tape measure is butted tight to the driver's side.

My fairly original 68 had embossed buckles, but you never know with these Jeeps. I'll definitely defer to Donny, he knows stuff.

If I had to guess, there is probably a year in there somewhere that the DOT mandated seatbelts. Could coincide with Jeep branding/embossing them?

I'd still go with new due to the safety factor.

John it looks like you have a bolt in the drain on your tank. I think that should be Pipe threads and should be a pipe plug. I put a valve in my drain plug so I could drain my tank or draw off some gas if I need to. As for seat belts, my 64 didn't have seat belt mounts, but I used a 71 box when I redone my tub, and it had seat belt mounts in it. I have a set of "Jeep" embossed seat belts, I think they came with the 66 donor Jeep I used to redo my tub. They have some rust on them so I didn't use them in my Jeep.

Does this look right to you guys I'm welding the plates in for the seat belts and the one on the fender well looks like it sticks out past where the actual arch of the fender well is so you probably look at it looks kind of invasive just checking to see if this is normal or not
