I want to add a heater hose bracket to the left front head bolt on my F-134. would it be OK to to just remove that one and re-torque or might that cause more problems with the head gasket than it worth at this time?

You should be fine with the one bolt.

I've done such things, with no apparent consequence.

What about removing 2 in opposite corners to add lifting eyes?

That is a good question and I am going to throw out my thoughts: I would bet by doing one at a time it probably wouldn't affect anything. I also wonder if it would help or not to do one then run the engine till thoroughly warmed up and cooled down and then do the other one?

Now, are you talking about each end of the engine or both sides of one end?

I'm thinking one on each end and on opposite sides.

The outer corners are the last to be tightened in the torquing sequence.
IMO to loosen and retorque them would seem harmless.

But check into an M38A1 lifting loop. They fit around the carb, work great.

I made a lifting bracket that goes on the carb base and loops over to the middle exhaust studs, it works ok, but have never tried it with the trans on the motor.

Funny. The ebay post has a 30 return policy. If I'm quick, which I'm not, I could use twice and return it.
