Does the emergency brake (transfer brake) lever attach to a stud on the bottom of the bearing cap from the D18?

I’m trying to decipher based on pictures from the interwebs, while comparing to photos I snapped of my setup. It looks to me like my stud and part of the bearing cap broke off at some point! Tell me it ain’t so!

Yep, that's where it goes, and it does indeed look like yours is broken :(

It is a very common breaking the boss for the stud off. I've seen a few creative fixes, but none have really held up except welding the boss with nickel rod, and re-machining.
List up a "want to buy" in the classifieds.

I brazed mine. Sandblasted the area first and washed in solvent. If doing it again, I would also braze a fender washer or similar piece of steel surrounding the pin, to the remainer of the flat surface, for additional strength. But it is holding up so far.

Look in classified section. I believe wheelie has that part included in a ebrake assembly for sale.

Awesome, thank guys. I’ll get to searching. Might end up doing the machining myself. We’ll see what wheelie has too.

Is there enough meat in the cap to fix it with a double-ended stud? I'd try drilling and tapping deeper into the cap and using lotsa red Loctite.

Yeah if I can’t get a hold of a new bearing end cap, I’ll absolutely see if I can’t fix what’s left. It’s gonne be a bigger task to get this d#*n E-Brake installed than I wanted!

If you fix the parking brake you will really like it. I fixed mine, and they really work if you get all the seals to stop leaking oil and everything back the way it was. Good luck.
