    Strider380 Can I have a zip tie?

The dauntless in my jeep leaks like a sieve and burns oil very well. Saw one today and went and bought her. I figured having two isn't the worst thing in the world. Think I made a good move. Valves have been done, has an aftermarket intake and four barrel carb. Not sure if I like that yet. I can't find any useful info on my engine code. My last dauntless seemed to be much easier to look up. On the back of the engine near the bellhousing, as far as I can tells , is. "OH 10 6" "991503". Anyone have advice on how to look this up? I think i exhausted the search options

I have a reference book of all manufacturers casting numbers (block and heads) up through 2003. The number "991503" is not listed. Could your number be on the back of the intake manifold rather than the block? The block casting number is on the extension immediately ahead of the bellhousing flange, just behind the cylinder head.

I see it referenced as a 1967 to 1974 for Jeep. I would put my money on it being made in October of 1966

    1967- 74 225 3.7 3.75 3.40 V6, Odd-Fire, Kaiser Jeep Corp/AMC 1358435 1396736 1381623 1375162 991503

991503 is a Jeep PN, coming from the late Kaiser era. The 13XXXXX numbers are from GM and shared by Jeep/Kaiser/AMC, I believe.

If the engine has 991503 cast-in, no doubt it's Kaiser-Jeep.
