Under Seat Toolbox?

When did the under seat toolbox go away?

I've got a 76 and 78, neither with it. But I seem to recall seeing it on a 72. So, were there toolboxes in the middle there? '73-'75?

    Thanks

    michigan_pinstripes I'm not lost, I'm wandering

Depends on the state where the Jeep is located. In Michigan, the toolboxes go away pretty quick

Allllrrighty then! I'll go visit the For Sale threads

    Wasn't '75 the last year?

Yes. 1975 was the last year for the underseat tool box.

IIRC, in '76, they used the space from the toolbox removal to get rid of the fold-and-tumble seat and replace it with a cantilevered seat bracket that moves the passenger seat way forward for back seat access. Where did they put the jack and lug wrench?

Had a 78 and a 82 IIRC they were under the hood.

Yep, '75 had the tool box and '76 didn't...My '76 had the jack on the inner fender
