I could use some help verifying the factory connections for the under hood 6 position wiring connector.
This is what I started out with a while back, I carefully labeled the wiring but my mistake was to use masking tape.

I recently pulled the wiring harness out of storage and the tape had fallen off the wires. I am looking to verify the connections that go to the 6 position under hood connector seen here.

The image below shows what I believe to be the connections, I don't know what the tan wire in the middle bottom is for.

This last image shows the end of the harness that attaches to the starter solenoid...I believe that I have these correct.

I know that there are some connections to the alternator but am at a loss what they would be. The FSM schematic is not color coded and is very small/hard to see. My title indicates I have a 1970 but I believe it to be a late 1969 model as it had the Ross/Gemmer steering and narrow leaf springs.
    Can anyone verify the connections?
    Thanks,
    Oz

The unlabeled wire is to the charge indicator light in speedo. Your eng pic looks like it has a Delco alt but the hose is in the way to determine which model.

Okay, the charge indicator light...that makes sense, thanks Walt.
The alternator is a Delco 10SI.

So how does the rest of the pinout look on the plug...does it seem correct the way they are identified?

    Thanks,

    That helps too, thanks Dennis.
Sure wish the factory diagram in my FSM was color coded instead of black & white...and also larger print.

The two you have labeled oil and temp I am not sure of.

I just got a wiring diagram blown up and i will trace those 2 wires to be sure where they go. I had the diagram blown up to 2 foot x 3 foot...I can actually read it :)

Can you email the file? I'd like to see how accurate it is.

    Here is the file.
The colors in the diagram do not all match the colors of the wires in my harness. Please let me know if it does not open for you and I will E mail it to you.

You are welcome. The file kept very good resolution when it was blown up to 2 foot by 3 foot. I got the file from "Magilla", a member over at the JCCA board, so the credit for creating this goes to him.

Got found this post and I want to thank you for posting the color diagram. I have a tangle of wires under my dash and this should make things much easier to figure out.

Glad you found it useful, it is very accurate.
Too bad photo bucket trashed the other pictures.
