It is a solid pipe plug. I'm assuming it should be vented to equalize pressure to prevent pushing the lube through the seals? I'll get one ordered.

Some mid-week progress. Tailgate installed, new covers on the chains. Mounted spare tire carrier. Assembled headlights and parking lights on the grill.
Also a question. What is the felt piece in the grill for and where can I find some to replace what was there?

Sounds like our stories are similar, except that after ONLY 15 years you are WAY further along than I am. So don't feel bad. I've been at it longer than that, and I'm not even done with the frame yet...

My great-grandma lived in Paradise. Used to go there every year to visit her when I was a kid. Love that area.

I have the grill to hood welting, got it from Walcks. The piece I'm curious about was inside the grill at the bottom of the radiator. I'm looking for a pic to post before I pulled it off the but cant find it. Looked like felt of but real coarse. It filled the space below the radiator to prevent air from going under maybe.

Mine has a flap a few inches wide of what I would consider a rubber material along the bottom and also up the sides that closed the gap between the grill & radiator..........

I was thinking of using rubber, the felt must hold a lot of water. Everything it touched was very rusty.

No telling what the factory or prior owner used......

Saturday progress, had to remove the winch to put a speedi-sleeve on the pto input shaft to solve a leak, new seal didn't do it. Grill completely assembled and mounted. Stripped the old paint off the gas tank and de-rusted it. Inside looks very clean. If the weather cooperates, might get it painted tomorrow.

Any idea where I could find one of these? Decal on winch, couldn't save it.

Progress today. Installed the gas tank and fuel lines. Made a gas cap retainer that I saw searching the threads. Started working on cleaning up the dash components.

A little more progress. I've been replacing all of the rusted fasteners, but finally got to the fender and floorplan bolts. Haven't been able to find replacements. Decided to clean and zinc plate my existing bolts. They are turning out nice. Finished restoring the horn and got the paint on the Jeep and Willys raised lettering and stenciled the tailgate.
