i would avoid the typical offshore ones the rubber they use isn't very durable in my experience .

I totally agree. I know a bunch of us have had stuff go bad after a very short period of time. I will say all of the window/windshield rubber I've gotten from Walck's has been really good.

I seriously doubt that you will find a seal today that is not "offshore" Most of what Walck's and Kaiser Willys sells are simply repackaged Crown parts for twice the money.

    >>>>>>any good glass guy should have plenty on a roll somewhere.<<<<<<<what he said. I had it done for me, the rubber was not right(that i ordered) the glass guy had the right stuff. I paid $100.00 to get it done, an after watching him do it i was glad he did it for me, Some guys have said its a snap. Not from what I watched..

army jeep parts. I just installed a new one on my m38a1, very pliable and easy to install. Excellent quality.

Sometimes when you forget to latch the windshield and when you hit the brakes the windshield falls forward . Don't ask me how I know.

well ,,, nobody got hurt ,,
I was flat towing SWAY home from a really fun tril ,and all was going great I was almost home ,I tow slow I know how sketchy flat towing can be and I was going maybe 45 my buddy said

    ,,,,but,,,,,,,,

I got a little too close to the edge of the hwy and my '00 tundra hit a groove that pulled me off the road ,there was a pretty good drop off and the jeep followed ,,,when I corrected and got the truck back on the road the jeep liked being in the dirt .... when the jeep decided to go back to following the tires popped back on the road and the jeep started to go a different direction ,,,,,,this is where it got exciting !!!! it caused me to fish tail . I hit the brakes but it was too late SWAY jackknifed into the back of my truck ,,I then did a AWESOME 8 WHEEL DRIFT ,,,180 deg on a 2 lane road ..... I did steer the whole show kind of correctly ,I ended up in the other oncoming lane going the correct way with both truck and jeep ... but the excitement proved to much for the little jeep and it broke off the ball and then ,,,,,fell over !!!!! all the speed was lost but the jeep is really sprung soft and it just fell over ,,,,no sliding ...... my buddy was following said the truck back wheels had come off the ground ,,it was close to dumping too...my buddy was driving a plastic jeep and we hooked a strap to the top of the roll bar and pulled it back over on it's wheels..... we did a quick walk around and all was good ,,, I bumped the starter and that sucker lit right up,,,, accident to off the hwy 5 minutes !!!,,,,, and I drove the jeep the rest of the way home.....the only damage was that the windshield was up and when the jeep fell over it racked the frame almost 1 3/4" but didn't break the glass..... SO ...... THAT'S why I need a new rubber seal since mine was from '59.....nobody got hurt that's all that matters.........

It could have been a lot worse! We were coming back from playing and my buddy, who has a giant diesel pusher ask if his park brake was smoking (flat towing) because it felt like it was dragging. About the time he signalled to pull onto the shoulder of the freeway it scattered engine parts everywhere. Long story short, he left it in gear. Doing the math 7.02 1st gear ratio, 5.38 axle ratio, 60 mph= a bunch of rpm!
