Is the Rochester 2G or 2GC the only carbs that will work on the original 225 V6 intake manifold. If not what are ones options?

Some guys have used an adapter and a Motorcraft 2 bbl carb.
As far as a direct bolt on, the Rochester is pretty much it.

Are you referring to the motorcraft 2100?

Yes. The 2100 or the 2150 will work fine on a 225. 1t will need a plate adapter to sit on the manifold. Ideally you'd like one of the small-venturi variants, 1.07" or 1.08" IIRC.

If you want a carb that will bolt to the manifold, I suspect the old Stromberg might.

One of the Holleys was a direct bolt-on fit. I do not remember which one, right off hand.
It has been close onto 22 years.

Holley used to make a line of replacement carbs...they weren't common even back then.

A Carter BBD will fit, may require an adapter, same bolt pattern as a Rochester 2G(C)? I do not recommend them however, very finicky and never could get one to run the same two days in a row; YMMV Good luck.

I google searched carb adapters for a 1987 gmc 2 wd truck 307 engine. If I remember correctly the 225 engine is 295 CFM two barrel. The 307 engine needed 325 cfm.
