What Did You Do To Your Jeep Today?

Bought 2 CJ6's
One has good mechanicals, other has a good body / easy to repair.

 

Thanks! I look at these pictures and I really like the look of it without the roll bar; it gives it that original look but I guess I should lean more toward the side of safety over cool and keep running it

 

The factory 2A ebrake cable is too short with a T18 under the floor, it also has obstruction issues. I made a bracket to hold the cable to the crossmember. Then fabbed a pivot arm assembly.

 

Clever!

 

Somebody needs to figure out a way to make these work in a Jeep. They’re pop-up roll bars from a Porsche convertible. The system senses a rollover and pops up from behind the seat.

 

Can we expect another build thread?

 

That would be clever! Pop up roll bar! I believe the Lamborghini convertibles have them as well, probably all the high end convertibles have them. They have their own SRS module to detect a rollover and pop up as quick as an airbag deploys. If anyone can figure out how to make this work it’s you, ITLKSEZ

 

Son drove it to church in his dress blues. He is home on 10 day leave.

 

He absolutely loves the Jeep.

 

Maybe, wouldn't be as interesting as the 3B build.
This one would be a plain old restoration with a few mods just for style.

First of all, I must thank this forum and some members who were particularly helpful. Dash is not original. PO made Swiss cheese out of it. I like it plain and simple. I agree, the black really works with the color. It still reminds me of my previously owned one just like this, except for the buckskin. BTW - how do I make this $&#@(*# horn work? New everything. Should the wire from the harness have power? Thanks everyone.

 

Horns on Ross steering have a hot (+) wire fed through the small hole in the bottom of the Ross box, directly in line with the column. It feeds up through the center of the column to under the horn button. There should be a metal contact button under the rubber button inside a plastic insulator. the metal plate that is under the rubber button grounds the power from the conact to a brass cup that surrounds the plastic insulator. The service manual has a diagram of it.
