Fhead Bellhousing

    There's a threaded hole at the bottom of an fhead bellhousing that just runs into the bellhousing (see pics). What's it for?

    It's there to be a conversation piece :)

    Actually, depending on which bellhousing you have it's either a drain or part of the military fording system.

    It's a drain to let water out. I keep a threaded plug in mine.

    A drain is what I was thinking. Now to find a plug.

    As Howard said. The military sealed and pressurized the housing for deep water fording.
