Hey guys, I bought a Airtex replacement pump and the original glass bowl pump has a "slider" for the pump attached on the lever.
    The Airtex pump does not.
The pin on the new pump doesnt look like it will work with the slider.

    Thoughts? Thanks

Engine? V6? F134? Helpful to put that info in your sig.

    Maybe try a Carter?

    The replacement looks unfinished.

It's a F134. Everything else on the pump looks right on. The model I bought is the 4032.

I wouldn't worry about it. My wagon fuel pump had that slider on it, replacement didn't. I've hardly seen any with that.

    :iagree:

Some have the sliders, some don't, just bolt it on & forget about it.

  6. my AC 4693 pump has a slider but most others don't. slider isn't needed just go with whatever one you got.

I went ahead and put it in. Works great. Changed the oil while I was at it, just in case.
Started right up. Leaking a little from the gasket, maybe I screwed it up trying to get it in.

    thanks again

I use a little bit of Permatex #2 on my gasket, plus I use studs in the block instead of bolts. Studs obviously keep the gasket in position. Now, I don't know if studs would work when trying to position that arm with the slider on it since I've never tried that.
